Amid a slow start to the season, the Boston Bruins are looking at ways to shake the team up, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports.

The Boston Bruins aren’t used to lingering around .500 — and it appears as though they don’t plan to much longer.
Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported during the “Saturday Headlines” segment on Hockey Night in Canada that the Bruins are seeking change and that there’s “intensity” within the organization.
“They’ve definitely been out there looking to see if there’s something they can do to shake them up,” Friedman said.
Boston (8-8-3) still sits third in the Atlantic Division, but dropped a 3-2 overtime decision against St. Louis earlier Saturday, two days after a 7-2 drubbing at the hands of the Dallas Stars.

Meanwhile, Columbus is looking into how to handle David Jiricek’s lack of playing time recently.
Jiricek, a defenceman, was the sixth-overall pick in 2022 but has appeared in just five games this season.
Friedman said Blue Jackets general manager Don Waddell “hopes to sort this out over the next few days.”
