The Ottawa Senators‘ goaltending depth has taken a serious hit.

Anton Forsberg was forced to leave Monday’s game against the Los Angeles Kings after suffering an undisclosed injury.

It’s not known when the injury occurred but Los Angeles defenceman Brandt Clarke collided with Forsberg while attempting to score a goal at 16:02 of second period. Clarke’s goal was overturned after Ottawa challenged him for goaltender interference.

Forsberg allowed three goals on nine shots before leaving the game.

Forsberg was replaced by Mads Søgaard, who was recalled by the Senators on an emergency basis after starting goaltender Linus Ullmark was unable to play with an undisclosed injury.
