The Ottawa Senators inched closer to clinching a playoff spot by defeating one of the teams chasing them in the standings.
The Senators picked up an important 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on home ice Saturday night.
Ottawa, sitting in the first wild card spot, now has 83 points, eight more than Columbus, who occupies the second spot.
