Senators to start Forsberg in net vs. Predators

Linus Ullmark is still waiting on his first stint between the pipes since Dec. 22.

The Ottawa Senators have announced Anton Forsberg will start in net against the Nashville Predators on Monday.

The decision comes as a bit of a surprise because many expected Ullmark to make his return from injury after the Senators sent goalie Leevi Merilainen back down to the Bellville Senators of the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Ullmark left the Senators’ game on Dec. 22 against the Edmonton Oilers with upper-body tightness during the third period. He has been listed as week-to-week ever since.

Josh Norris will also not appear for the Senators on Monday. Head coach Travis Green shared that he will be out for a few weeks after leaving Ottawa’s 6-0 defeat of the Minnesota Wild on Saturday in the third period.

The exact injury he sustained is still unclear.

Although Ridly Greig did not participate in the morning skate, Green confirmed he will be playing against the Predators.
