The rebuilding San Jose Sharks are continuing to recoup assets for their veterans ahead of the trade deadline.
The Sharks traded centre Luke Kunin to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2025.
The 27-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent who is playing on a one-year, $2.75-million contract.
He is an eight-year veteran who has spent the last three years playing for the Sharks.
This season, he has 11 goals and 18 points in 63 games, matching his totals from last season in 16 fewer games.
The Sharks are currently last in the NHL with just 41 points in 62 games.
The club has already traded away veterans Mikael Granlund and Cody Ceci in a deal with the Dallas Stars, swapped goalies with the Colorado Avalanche, sent defenceman Jake Walman to the Edmonton Oilers and traded centre Nico Sturm to the Florida Panthers ahead of the deadline.
