Should i learn BJJ or Judo ?

I dont know much about both martial arts to be able to choose one, i know judo is more focused on standing grappling and throws, but i dont know how good and how much it'll teach me ground control and submissions which id love to learn. Im also second guessing bjj as even tho it is way more popular and it will with no doubt make me way more prepared on the ground, the most important is getting to it and as any fight starts on foot (even in sports, i dont like bjj fights that start on your knees already) im afraid bjj doesnt teach enought (or at all) good takedowns and standing grappling. Ive searched a lot about both by now in terms of which would be a better option, i watched threads, youtube videos from practicioners of both, blogs, everything. The conclusion is that both are almost equaly great and it mostly depends on my main objective, but both are regarded between the best martial arts existing.I can only practice one and schools are not a problem as i have relatively good gyms for both near my home, so the single factor in chosing is the martial art itself and nothing else. My focus would be mainly on foot, being able to grapple, but also to be able to takedown, and obviously id want to be great in groundwork, mainly submissions and control. Id like to choose the most complete and versatile possible grappling martial art, and i can only practice one, as i said, so which should i choose ? submitted by /u/Pdr_Haoshoku [link] [comments]
