Should there be a rule in the UFC where a condition has to be met for a current division champion to go for two belts?
I get the feeling these days that there are people trying to quickly move up and down weight classes not long after they win the belt. Illia Topuria being the latest made me think about how it might be interesting if there were a rule in the UFC that dealt with this situation. For example, if you win a belt you can't go for the belt in another weight class until you defend your belt 3 times. I mean, I can't say something like this would permanently fix the issue of new champions quickly taking their division hostage as a side effect of their aspirations for a second belt. This might not even be as big of an issue as I feel it is, but it would all the same not hurt regardless of if this sort of thing happened often or not. submitted by /u/Antique_Text_29 [link] [comments]
