Denver's 31-13 victory over Indianapolis rewarded the Texans with a second consecutive AFC South title.
Houston beat the Dolphins 20-12 in the early window Sunday.
The Texans are 9-5, and the Colts 6-8, with only three games remaining in the regular season and Houston owning the head-to-head tiebreaker with a sweep of Indianapolis this season.
The Texans currently are the AFC's No. 4 seed, a game behind the Steelers for No. 3.
The Chiefs and Bills are the top two seeds.
The division title assures the Texans of at least one home playoff game. They beat the Browns at home in the wild card round last season.
