Brady opened the scoring for the U.S. in the first period to tie up the game, adding his second goal three minutes into the third period. Matthew scored both his goals in the third period — the third and sixth American goals.
Jake Guentzel and Matt Boldy also scored for the U.S., while defenceman Zach Werenski added three assists.
Henri Jokiharju scored the opening goal, which would be Finland’s only marker of the game.
Finland netminder Juuse Saros had a tough showing but remained in the crease for the entire game, finishing the contest with a .813 save percentage. At the other end of the ice, Vezina Trophy-winning Connor Hellebyuck was near perfect, finishing the game with a .952 save percentage.
