Was Andersons Silva overrated?
When Anderson Silva was champion I saw him as one of the best, and continued to do so until today. But talking about him last night I looked up his record and realized that the people he was fighting in his prime just weren't that impressive, if you compare it to the records of fighters like Fedor, GSP, or Jones. He took the title from Rich Franklin who was huge back then, but looking back Rich wasn't that great of a fighter. He defended against guys like Chris Leben or Patrick Cote who were not that good, or people I've never heard of like James Irvin. His toughest defenses were against people like Henderson, Sonnen, and a past his prime Vitor Belfort. Solid fighters, but not really the cream of the crop either. What do you guys think, does Anderson Silva's legacy live up to the hype? submitted by /u/robendboua [link] [comments]
