What technique did you think would take over MMA, only it never did?
Rubber guard is probably the easiest answer here. When Aoki was doing well, lots of people (especially JRE fans) thought rubber guard was gonna take over MMA and everyone would be doing it. Obviously, that never actually happened. I might also add superman punches. As the striking skill level went up, the number of those went down.
