Why did Islam get little credit for beating Volk the 1st time?

At the time of this fight, Volk was the #1 P4P and many people had him as the FW GOAT. One thing I don't get is how people didn't give Islam credit. Yeah, he beat a featherweight... but this is Volk. Dude could have probably destroyed the rest of the LW division. Not to mention, many of the current LW contenders are former featherweights. It's weird to see this kind of asterik on a fight like that. With the potential Topuria fight, I get it because he hasn't been as dominant as Volk at featherweight but if this fight does happen and Islam beats him, he should get full credit. Ilia can probably finish most of the LW contenders.
