Why don’t Muay Thai fighters destroy mma strikers?

I’ll start by saying I’m a very casual combat sports and mma fan I pretty much only watch ufc main cards. But ive seen clips of these Muay Thai guys in ONE taking ferocious beatings round after round just tanking clean shot after shot and keep going 100% viciously with infinite gas tank. Maybe this isn’t a true representation but seeing rodtang stick his head out and eat shots to the face like it’s nothing convinces me it is. Then why in the ufc fighters get hit with one clean shot they get wobbled and it’s over? Why can’t a Muay Thai guy come to the ufc and walk through every striker. Are they really that much tougher than ufc fighters, because that’s hard to believe if these guys are the best in the world and get wobbled with one shot (not like I wouldn’t). I know the grappling is an issue but Alex pereira seems fine, and they would train mma grappling anyways but that’s not what I’m talking about. I know they also wear boxing gloves but is that such a huge difference that they could just tank tons of shots in boxing gloves which are heavier anyways but with mma gloves they just fold? Also the gas tanks just seems infinite in Muay Thai fighters. I know they are different sports and this is probably a stupid question, and I sound like one of those guys who thinks Muay Thai is the best and everything else sucks (I’m not), but why does it look like Muay Thai guys have way better gas tanks and are way tougher than UFC fighters? submitted by /u/Serious-Tension288 [link] [comments]
